Cleanout Box Policy

The Cleanout Box is Toycycle's mail-in consignment service for parents in the continental United States. Send us a box of accepted-brand toys in excellent condition, we'll list and sell them, and you'll earn cash or store credit on every sale. This policy explains exactly how it works. It applies in addition to the Seller Terms & Conditions, which govern the consignment relationship overall.

1. Who Can Use It

  • Residents of the continental United States (the Cleanout Box is not available in Hawaii or Alaska).
  • Adults 18 years of age or older.
  • You must be the legal owner of every item you submit.

2. Brands We Accept

We carefully curate which brands we accept. The Cleanout Box is only for items from one of the brands below. Please confirm every item before submitting your request.

Don't see your brand? We're not able to accept items outside this list at this time. We update our accepted brands periodically — check back, or email sellers@toycycle.co if you have a question about a specific item.

3. Condition Requirements

We only accept toys in excellent condition. Every item must meet all of the following:

  • No significant scuffs, scratches, tears, or chips.
  • All original parts and pieces included.
  • Clean and ready for a new family.
  • Not subject to any active recall.

When in doubt, ask yourself: would I feel good gifting this? If yes, you're good to go. Items that arrive in less than excellent condition may be donated and may incur a disposal fee (see Section 8).

4. Box & Shipping Specs

  • Maximum dimensions: 24×15×12″ per box.
  • Maximum weight: 20 lbs.
  • You provide the box; we provide a prepaid USPS, UPS, or FedEx shipping label by email.
  • Pack items snugly with protective material so they arrive in the same condition they left in. Risk of in-transit damage is your responsibility up to the carrier's standard insurance coverage.

5. How It Works

  1. Request a label. Complete our 2-minute online form. We'll email a prepaid USPS, UPS, or FedEx label within 1–2 business days.
  2. Pack & ship. Use any sturdy box up to 24×15×12″. Affix the prepaid label and drop the box at the designated carrier location.
  3. We inspect, list & sell. Items are inspected, cleaned where needed, photographed, priced, and listed on toycycle.co within 1–2 weeks of arrival.
  4. You get paid. Request a cash payout (PayPal or Venmo) or choose Toycycle store credit with a 10% bonus.

6. Listing & Sales Timeline

  • Items are listed within 1–2 weeks of arrival at our warehouse.
  • Most items sell within 30–60 days. Unsold items are marked down over time at our discretion.
  • Items that remain unsold after 180 days are donated to local non-profits that support families in need.

7. Payouts

Payouts are calculated per item based on the final sale price. Choose cash or store credit at payout time.

Items priced under $15 are accepted but earn the lowest tier. Request a payout at any time by emailing sellers@toycycle.co. Earnings unclaimed after 365 days are forfeited per the Seller Terms & Conditions.

8. Fees

Box label fee $5 deducted from your first payout
Additional labels $5 each for multi-box requests
Disposal fee $10–$25 for boxes with excessive non-conforming items
Excess cleaning $5–$15 per item, if required
Battery replacement $1–$5 if needed

9. What Happens to Rejected Items

Every item is inspected on arrival. Items that don't meet our brand or condition standards are donated to local non-profits, recycled, or responsibly disposed of. We do not return rejected items.

If a box contains an excessive number of non-conforming items, a disposal fee of $10–$25 applies and is deducted from your future payouts. We'll notify you by email before assessing any fee.

10. Multiple Boxes

If you are new to consigning with us, please start with one box. After we review it and share any feedback, you can request additional labels. Each additional label is $5.

11. Returns & Refunds

Once your box is delivered to our warehouse and accepted, items cannot be returned to you. Buyer-side returns are handled per our store return policy and may or may not affect your finalized payout, depending on the reason for the return and whether we are able to restock the item.
