Sell Used Toys in Alameda

Island living rewards the clutter-free — and Alameda's compact, family-dense neighborhoods, from the East End to Bay Farm, cycle through toys as fast as kids grow. Toycycle is a toy consignment service just across the water: we inspect, clean, and list your outgrown toys to buyers nationwide, and pay you cash or store credit when they sell. Of all the cities we serve, Alameda has it easiest — our Hayward warehouse is a straight shot down I-880.

Three ways to sell your toys from Alameda

1. Cleanout Box — ship it, done

Best for around 10–15 items. Request a prepaid USPS label, pack the box, and hand it to your carrier — no driving anywhere. A $5 label fee comes out of your first payout. Start a Cleanout Box here.

2. Curbside pickup — for the big cleanouts

Clearing out 20 or more items? We offer curbside pickup across the San Francisco Bay Area, Alameda included, for a flat $25. Email sellers@toycycle.co with what you have and we'll schedule it.

3. Free drop-off in Hayward

This is Alameda's best trick: the free drop-off at our Hayward warehouse (31259 Wiegman Rd, Mon–Fri 9am–3pm, by appointment) is a straight shot down I-880. Email us to book a time.

What you'll earn

Payouts scale with each item's sale price — from 10% on small items up to 75% cash on items that sell for $300+, and every tier pays 10 points more if you take store credit instead (top tier: 85%). Items are typically listed within 1–2 weeks and most sell within 30–60 days. Full payout table: how selling works.

What we accept

Toys primarily, from our approved list of roughly 15 premium brands — Lovevery, PlanToys, Melissa & Doug, HABA, Grimm's, Playmobil, Tonies, and more — in excellent condition with all parts. The canonical brand list lives on the sell page. We don't accept large baby gear, and we never resell car seats. Every item we list is inspected, cleaned, and checked against CPSC recall lists — that's why buyers trust it, and why your toys actually sell. Questions? See the seller FAQ.

The easiest free option: drive it over

Because Alameda sits so close to our warehouse, many Alameda sellers skip shipping entirely: load the trunk, book a weekday appointment, and drop everything off free at 31259 Wiegman Rd in Hayward (Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm). One trip, no label fees, no pickup fee — and your toys start their inspection the same day. It's the highest-payout path for a big cleanout, since fewer fees come out of your earnings.

FAQs

Do you pick up toys in Alameda?

Yes — curbside pickup covers Alameda and the wider Bay Area for 20+ item cleanouts at a flat $25, arranged by emailing sellers@toycycle.co. But given how close Alameda is to our Hayward warehouse, the free drop-off is often the smarter choice.

Where do I drop off toys near Alameda?

Our warehouse at 31259 Wiegman Rd, Hayward — straight down I-880. Drop-offs are free and by appointment, Monday–Friday 9am–3pm. Email sellers@toycycle.co to schedule.

What happens to toys that don't sell?

Most consigned toys sell within 30–60 days. Anything still unsold is marked down over time, and after 180 days it's donated to local family-support non-profits — your outgrown toys help another family either way, and nothing comes back to clutter your house.

Do I get paid in cash or store credit?

Your choice, per item: 10–75% of the sale price in cash by price tier, or 10 points more in store credit (up to 85% on the top tier) — handy if you're also shopping Toycycle's used and open box toys for the next age stage.
